U.S. 33-S.R. 161-Post Road Interchange Improvements

Work is underway on the U.S. 33/S.R. 161/Post Road interchange improvements! The project is in construction phase 3 and is expected to be completed in spring 2025. Check ODOT’s website for the latest information.

Work Status

  • Reconstruction of both U.S. 33 bridges over Post Road/S.R. 161
  • Reconstruction/widening of Post Road/S.R. 161

Traffic Impact

  • ODOT activated the Post Road/Hyland-Croy Road signal:
    • This returns Hyland-Croy Road to full access at Post Road.
    • The new U.S. 33 westbound exit ramp to Post Road is open and the old/existing U.S. 33 westbound exit ramp to Post Road is permanently closed.
    • Post Road east of U.S. 33 is open to two lanes of traffic
    • Post Road under U.S. 33 will remain open with one lane of traffic in each direction until June 2025.
  • The new alignment of the U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to Post Road/S.R. 161 eastbound is open. Traffic will permanently use the Eiterman Road roundabout to access Post Road/S.R. 161 eastbound.
  • The Post Road & Post Preserve intersection is permanently a right-in, right-out intersection.

This rural interchange is at the center of substantial local and regional economic development, and the current configuration does not meet the diverse needs of this thriving area. A new design is being developed to address capacity and safety concerns.

These improvements are possible thanks to significant investments and project development assistance from the City of Dublin, Union County, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC).

*This project is led by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Questions concerning project development can be addressed to Matthew McGuire, ODOT D6 PIO, at 740.833.8222 or Matthew.McGuire@dot.ohio.gov. Details of this project can also be found on the ODOT webpage.
